Marriage Therapy
Marriage therapy is available from Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists related to issues including relationship repair and enhancement, communication skills, conflict resolution, intimacy issues - emotional, spiritual and physical, problem solving, recovery after an affair, anxiety, repairing and maintaining trust, stage of life issues, encouraging each other's healing and spiritual growth.
Marriage Consults
Our marriages are precious and often get over-looked and neglected in our busy lives, especially if raising children is also happening. A marriage consult is good even for the healthiest of couples. Having healthy marriages means healthy families which added together means healthy congregations and healthy communities. The cost of the marriage consult is only $40. When the couple calls to schedule, they will be mailed some marital inventories to fill out. We have compiled assessments from leading professionals in the field of marriage health, and we have added an assessment created by Jack and Amanda Ragland based on their "Three Strand Cord" material which gives couples information about how their Christian walk strengthens their marriage. The spouses will then meet with one of our staff members and receive helpful encouragement about their marriage. They will leave with affirmations and ideas about strengthening their marriage as well as with resources for further self-study. Please call 461-8580 to schedule.
Three Strand Cord: Doing Marriage God's Way - Dinner and Program
With a continually increasing divorce rate, our culture is full of forces capable of undermining our marriages. Now more than ever, our marriages need to be centered in our relationship with God. Marriage is meant to be lived as a three-way covenant between God, husband and wife. As a three-strand cord, our marriages will not be quickly broken (Eccl. 4:12). On Friday, January 30, 2009, we will host an evening that can be like a date-night. Come as a couple, and bring your friends; plan ahead with us, and we will help make sure you sit at the same table. We will enjoy a catered meal, and we will have a program that celebrates the spiritual aspect of our marital relationships which makes them strong. The cost is $25.00 per couple.
Three Strand Cord: Doing Marriage God's Way
- Small Group Experience
For those couples who want a little more depth, consider joining this small group experience. This marriage course will be led by the Reverends Jack and Amanda Ragland utilizing curriculum they have written. The group will meet on Thursdays at lunch time, from 11:30 to 12:45, with the first meeting being on January 29. Meetings will continue monthly throughout 2009. The cost of participating in the group will be $150 for each couple which includes 12 meetings and resources. The purpose is to strengthen marriages utilizing Christian fellowship, study of biblical texts and psychological understanding. Couples will learn how to thrive in marriage as a three-way covenant with each member of the Trinity at the center. Please call 461-8580 to sign up.
