The Three-Strand Cord: Doing Marriage God's Way
PROBLEM:
Divorce rate for the United States in 2002 was 54.8%. Religious affiliation seems to have no impact on the percentage.
Genesis 2:24 says "A man leaves his father and mother and cleaves to his wife, and they become one flesh." God intended marriage to be one of our richest blessings, a place of shared love that equips each spouse to better serve the Body of Christ. So often, marriage is greatly neglected and not fully realized as the gift it is.
WHAT IS IT?
A one year program for celebrating healthy Christian marriage utilizing worship and in-home support/educational gatherings in local congregations to strengthen the three strands of the marital bond: husband, wife and God.
PURPOSE:
To allow couples to experience the fullness of the blessing God intends marriage to be so that the marriage is a source of spiritual growth, joy, warmth and healing.
WHAT WILL BE GAINED?
Worship, Bible Study, skills for resolving conflict, tools for healing long-standing hurts, effective ways to express love, marriage as spiritual growth, opportunity to renew vows and to practice forgiveness
