Lord, I call to You.  Please, help me.  My heart is torn, ripped and broken.  I am betrayed again.  I feel raw.  I despair. I am afraid, and my spirit is faint.  The hurt might consume me.  I cannot speak.

Caregiver’s prayer:

Precious LORD, Prince of Peace – I lift this child of yours into the light of your love.   Please LORD, let her know your hand on her chest and on her back over her heart; let her melt into your presence as you are very near.  Hold her as she collapses into your arms that can truly save.   In your mighty power, send from her, as far as the east is to the west, any evil or destructive force that would cause further harm.  May the warmth of your love melt any obstacle or hardness that would hinder your Spirit from permeating this wound.  Cover the raw and torn place with the very healing balm of Gilead.  LORD, our Redeemer, our Savior, wrap her damaged broken heart with bindings, delivered with your loving hands so that her heart comes back to the shape you intend.  Let your bindings cover her wound as the balm permeates and your Spirit restores.  Let your promises flood her soul.  I pray that this time of healing you have begun in her may be set aside as a sacred season where she knows your presence as a small child knows a loving father.  Hold her on your lap, and let her marvel in your patience.  I praise you that you, O LORD, stay with us, that you see us through our seasons again and again.  Believing and standing firm in your promises, I claim by faith for her the glorious day when you will remove the bindings to find her heart restored, her soul mounting up on wings like eagles souring in your love.  How majestic in your name in all the earth.  Let it be so.  Amen.

“Open” by John Ragland, copyright 2013

I stand before you, LORD.  I am known.  I am open.  I am aware of Your mighty presence that touches me, moves me.  I am in awe.  Oh, that You might fill me, use me, take me where You would have me go.  How is it, GOD, that You might allow me to do a part of your kingdom work?   Your presence burns in me.  I am overwhelmed.  I am brought low; I soar on high.   Holy, holy, holy are You LORD God Almighty, who was and is and is to come!  Your love is amazing.  I can barely contain it.  Only let this love flow through me, and I will go.  I will serve.  I will move.  I will be.  I will speak.  I will remain silent. Just say the word.  I will praise.  Against the odds, I will stand.  I will shout.  My LORD and my GOD.  For this most precious gift, I bow before You and give You glory.   prayer by Amanda Ragland

Trials are certain because we are human. Facing trials, we can grab hold of fear and fear again. Or, we can choose to grab on to God’s Word and declare our faith against the odds. The faith itself is a gift from God that can grow as we hold one verse to the next. May the LORD himself bless us all. What a sweet God – giving us all we need.

I will fan into flame the gift of God that is in me. I will not be timid. I will receive power, love and self-discipline from God. I will not fear. I will not let fear collect to form dismay. I will be strengthened and upheld by God. These trials on me, I will accept with joy. My faith is tested. I will see that it is turned into perseverance. I will allow perseverance to finish its work. May I stand before God mature and complete – not in my power, not by my power, but by His. His power in me – glory be to You oh God – my Rock – my Redeemer. I rejoice in sufferings again for the opportunity to persevere that will give me character and that character will became hope because the LORD GOD pours love into my heart by the Holy Spirit. By God’s provision of faith – I will not waiver in unbelief but I will be strengthened in my faith. I will give glory to God because I believe God has all power. Yes, I can voice with the disciples – “Surely I will drown.” But I believe my LORD can and will calm the storm. My faith is in me – the gift of GOD. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

LORD, my God, you are the one who calms the storm,
when the waves and winds threaten from all around.
You bring complete calmness when the boat is tipping and all are seized with fear.
Praise be to you ~ my Savior ~ my Lord.
Forgive me when my faith falters.
Restore me to a place of believing so that in the calmness, I, too, will be glad.
Bring the desired haven.
You are worthy of all praise, honor and glory for your wonderful deeds!
You are the safe harbor.
From the calmness, I shout your praise and marvel again
at how vast is your tender mercy and power.
I am still.
I am calm.
You are my Savior and Lord of my life.  Amen.

Precious Lord,

You are the source of all love and grace – the one who redeems and heals.  You have a plan for us to live in harmonoy yet we are driven by other forces.  I lift into the light of Your love, a family torn assunder.

Lord, please let your love surround each part of this broken family.. For each person, Lord, minister to needs as only You can.  Heal the hurts.  Quicken each spirit to find refuge and guidance in You.  Please, Lord, don’t let the dividing walls continue to grow.   As the Prince of Peace, Lord, stop the destruction.  Be a common ground where each one is enabled to put down the tools of war.  Let your tender mercy flow and encourage their hearts to faith that gives way to perserverance.  Send angels, Lord, to protect and to bring message of hope.  Restore to them a joy they once knew, and lead them to a great peace they have yet to see.

May each ones connection to You become the common bond that holds them together until You can heal and restore.  Please, Lord, send the support they need from every direction to reinforce Your plan and hold at bay whatever would hinder.

In Your precious name, Amen.

It is night.
The night is for stillness.
Let us be still in the presence of God.
It is night after a long day.
What has been done has been done;
what has not been done has not been done;
Let it be.
The night is dark.
Let our fears of the darkness of the world
and of our own lives rest in you.
The night is quiet.
Let the quietness of your peace enfold us,
          all dear to us,
and all who have no peace.
The night heralds the dawn.
Let us look expectantly to a new day,
          new joys,
          new possibilities.
In your name we pray. Amen.
